What a sweet museum/centre – I love the Nicholson, Auntie May’s, shipwreck and mining displays – I’m very impressed with the local and down to Earth focus (the timeline ‘Bronze Age’ onward was also sooo fascinating) Well done Millom!

Very nostalgic! I worked on a blast furnace in Teeside in the late 1960s and we used iron ore from Millom. My grandmother lived in a house with a kitchen just like the one here. Recognised lots of the domestic and chemists items you have on display from my childhood. The mine was very much like the one I worked in during the late 1990s in Bulgaria! – D Dixon,
