New Millom room fantastically supported by local residents

We’ve always known that Millom and the surrounding area has a fantastic, supportive community. Here at the Millom Heritage and Arts Centre we feel it’s such a privilege to be part of the town, as a community hub and accessible, educational space. The support we’ve received over the years for various projects from our community has been amazing and once again in 2021, you didn’t disappoint!

As part of our revamp of the Millom Heritage and Arts Centre, we have decided to dedicate a space purely to images and stories of Millom today, yesterday and before! So who better to ask for help creating this space than our lovely community.

And that’s exactly what we did! On the 6th May we popped a small message on our Facebook page asking for help with all your wonderful images of Millom and the surrounding area. We’ve seen some amazing photographs over the years from local photographers (both professional and hobby), so we knew you guys were out there…

We were overwhelmed with the amazing response. The images shared on the post alone were fantastic and highlighted our beautiful part of the world as a real gem of a place to visit. We have such talented photographers living in the area and we are proud to have your work shared with us and look forward to creating a room that really celebrates the beauty of this amazing place.
